In order to maintain a positive working relationship with libraries that lend to us, the ILL office has instituted the following policies regarding overdue materials.
- Due date reminders and overdue reminders are sent from ILL via e-mail.
- A 20-cents per day late fee will be applied for an overdue item.
- Repeated abuse of ILL privileges by consistently returning ILL items late will suspend the user's ILL borrowing privileges for a year.
- If the ILL item is not returned after the third overdue notice, the other library might declare it a lost item. If that is the case, the user's ILL account will be blocked and the user will be billed through his/her library account for a replacement that might also include processing fees from the lending library. ILL privileges will be restored once the charges are paid.
