Interlibrary Loan is not free, but Fuller Libraries cover most of the cost for services. However, while the service is generally free of charge, it is important to note that the lending libraries will determine whether or not there is a charge for their service.
You can specify in the online book/article request form a maximum cost you are willing to pay. Our system will alert users of any cost associated with the request (some fees can be $20 or more per item), and users can cancel requests if they do not wish to pay. ILL fees will be added to the user's library account and may be paid with cash or check at the circulation desk (Pasadena campus library) at the time that you pick up your ILL item. Fees can also be paid online here.
Costs for full-time and affiliate faculty will be absorbed by the Library, with the exception of requests for print loans of materials already held in electronic format. Faculty will be responsible for any fees incurred in such cases.
