In order to maintain a positive working relationship with libraries that lend to us, the ILL office has instituted the following policies regarding overdue materials.

  1. Due date reminders and overdue reminders are sent from ILL via e-mail.
  2. A 20-cents per day late fee will be applied for an overdue item.
  3. Repeated abuse of ILL privileges by consistently returning ILL items late will suspend the user's ILL borrowing privileges for a year.
  4. If the ILL item is not returned after the third overdue notice, the other library might declare it a lost item. If that is the case, the user's ILL account will be blocked and the user will be billed through his/her library account for a replacement that might also include processing fees from the lending library. ILL privileges will be restored once the charges are paid.
