Storage stacks are where many of the library's older and less frequently accessed books are held (sometimes called 'closed stacks'). The check out times for these books are the same as the main collection, but the books must be retrieved by library staff as they are located in a secure storage area.

To check out a storage book, please submit a storage/closed stacks request form at the front circulation desk at the library entrance (the Peggy Helmerich Learning Commons). Or, submit a request online. Please have the book's call number, author, short title, and volume number (if applicable) ready to fill out the form. Requests typically take close to an hour to fulfill.

The same form and procedure is also used to checkout special collection books. Please note that all special collection books are available for 2 hour checkout and are for library use only.

As a reminder, current Masters level students can check out up to 30 items for 3 weeks at a time with two renewals. Current Ph.D., Th.M., and D.Miss. level students can check out up to 100 items for 3 months at a time with one renewal. Please visit our access policies page to see circulation and access privileges for all patron types.
